Our Mission

We bring our ideas and biomaterial expertise to collaborate in an open and transparent way on product development projects.

Our Vision

To be the most innovative and reliable global supplier of fibrous biomaterials for medical device products that enhance the quality of life of patients.

Company

We design, develop and manufacture nanofibrous biomaterials for medical devices and regenerative medicine. Our technology platform is built on electrospinning and associated processing technologies. We are supporting clients with material development in a range of different therapeutic indications and territories, and supply electrospun biomaterial components into an FDA-approved medical device, the first such device to be sold in the USA. Originally a spin-out from the UK Science and Technology Facilities Council (STFC), we are located in a purpose-built cleanroom facility on the growing Harwell Science and Innovation Campus, near Oxford, in the UK.

Services

We offer complete end-to-end services to take your product innovation through its development stages, from early feasibility to manufacturing. Our tried and tested processes allow swift progression from a development stage to a fully validated production process and manufacturing. Operating under ISO 13485 guidelines since 2015, we can provide the full suite of documentation for regulatory submissions worldwide. We will be your partners with a focus on downstream cost-of-goods, right from the beginning.

Expertise

Our team of material scientists, engineers and biologists stand at the foundation of our leading biomaterial technology platform, many with years of experience. Capable electrospinning experts will work closely with you to adopt your existing process or develop a new process, aided by a full suite of post-processing technologies available in house. Engineers in validation and verification will assist you in creating a robust production process that meets your cost targets. Our quality specialists can provide full assistance in getting your product through the regulatory process and assure the very best quality in manufacturing.

Partnering Opportunities

We are developing cell therapy tools including Kalyptix® immuno-protective technology, and the Symatix® membrane, a synthetic alternative to human amniotic membrane for use in wound healing and ophthalmology. These technologies are available for collaborative development and licensing.
