About the Electrospinning Company

Design, development and manufacture of biomaterials for regenerative medical devices


The Company was established in 2010 as a spin-out by the UK Science and Technology Research Council (STFC). We are located in brand-new, purpose-built clean-room facilities on the growing Harwell Science and Innovation Campus, near Oxford, in the UK.


We offer complete end-to-end services to take your product innovation through its development stages, from early feasibility to manufacturing. Our tried and tested processes allow swift progression from a development stage to a fully validated production process and manufacturing. Operating under ISO 13485 guidelines since 2015, we can provide the full suite of documentation for regulatory submissions worldwide. We will partner with you with a focus on downstream cost-of-goods, right from the beginning.


Our team of material scientists, engineers and biologists stand at the foundation of our leading biomaterial technology platform, many with years of experience in industry. Capable electrospinning experts will work closely with you to adopt your existing process or develop a new process, aided by a full suite of post-processing technologies available in house. Engineers with years of experience in validation and verification, will assist you in creating a robust production process that meets your cost targets. Our quality staff can provide full assistance in getting your product through the regulatory process and assure the very best quality in manufacturing.


Our electrospun polymer scaffolds provide an ideal environment for supporting the growth of cells in 3D. We manufacture a range of ready-to-use, sterile tissue culture plates containing the Mimetix® scaffold for tissue engineering, regenerative medicine and drug discovery research and a range of more porous materials for use in bioreactors.
