We are attending the virtual 38th Congress of the European Society of Cataract and Reflective Surgeon (ESCRS) from 2-4th October 2020.
The ESCRS promote education and research in the field of implant and refractive surgery and the study and practice of ophthalmology.
We have had the opportunity to support the development of affordable corneal surface regeneration techniques led by The University of Sheffield, in collaboration with the L.V. Prasad eye clinic in Hyderabad. We provided them with biodegradable synthetic membranes with full quality documentation and supported them during regulatory submissions. Phase I clinical trials for this have demonstrated patient safety. Read more about this case study “Cornea Regeneration on a Synthetic Membrane with Limbal Tissue Explants“.
Currently, we are working on a ‘Synthetic Amniotic Membrane’ with the aim to assess the technical and commercial feasibility of developing a fully resorbable synthetic amniotic membrane (AM) alternative. The use of electrospinning technology to fabricate such a device will closely mimic the native AM and ocular tissue. Read more about the “Synthetic wound healing Membrane”.
Our team will be attending various sessions, presentation and are keen to discuss the ophthalmic applications of electrospinning during this event. Contact us to set up a meeting.
We look forward to seeing you there.
