Cell Culture Scaffolds:
We have developed a general purpose nanofibre scaffold for 3D cell culture and have extensive capabilities to produce bespoke scaffolds for specific cell culture applications. The materials we use in our standard scaffolds are synthetic biocompatible polymers which are approved for use in humans, making it an ideal substrate for the development of stem cell therapeutics that can in due course use the same nanofibre scaffold for transplantation of stem cells.
The open porous structure of the scaffold, allows nutrients to reach cells that are growing deep within the layers of nanofibres. Cells growing in 3D typically express a far wider range of behaviours, more closely resembling natural in-vivo growth than they would in a traditional 2D monolayer. Our state of the art electrospinning facilities enable us to achieve exceptionally high levels of batch to batch consistency of fibre diameter and fibre surface texture.
