The Company

The Electrospinning Company Limited designs and manufactures electrospun nanofibre scaffolds that support the growth of cells in 3D. Uniquely in Europe, we design and manufacture high quality products from biocompatible polymers for use in regenerative medicine, stem cell therapeutics, and drug discovery.

The Electrospinning Company Ltd was spun out from the Science and Technology Facilities Council (STFC) and has access to world-class facilities at the Rutherford Appleton Laboratory. Our team has the expert know-how to manufacture highly consistent fibres for incorporation into easy-to-use scaffold products. Since foundation in 2010, The Electrospinning Company Ltd has launched a range of tissue engineering laboratory consumables and established industrial collaborations to co-develop medical devices. We are also developing microplates with in-built scaffolds for oncology drug discovery, where more predictive in vitro 3D cell-based assays could reduce the rate of expensive clinical failures and replace certain animal studies.
