About the Electrospinning Company
Design, development and manufacture of biomaterials for regenerative medical devices
The Company was established in 2010 as a spin-out by the UK Science and Technology research council (STFC) and is located at the Rutherford Appleton Laboratory campus near Oxford in the UK.
Our team has the expert know-how to design, develop and manufacture materials for use in regenerative devices and in 3D cell culture products. We manufacture in ISO Class V clean rooms and are ISO 13485 certified.
We offer a service to translate electrospun scaffold innovations or prototypes to clinic-ready products. We provide reliable production, scale-up methodology and documentation to support regulatory submissions. Our materials are used in an FDA-approved medical device in the USA and in a development product in Phase I clinical trials in India. Our electrospun polymer scaffolds provide an ideal environment for supporting the growth of cells in 3D. We sell a range of ready-to-use, sterile tissue culture plates containing the Mimetix® scaffold for tissue engineering, regenerative medicine and drug discovery research.
The Electrospinning Company Ltd are developing fibres for a number of different applications in cell-based therapies, drug discovery and regenerative medicine.
